OUR TEAM

Experience & Excellence

Your pet will receive outstanding veterinary medical care at Lakewood Animal Health Center. The four veterinarians take a team-oriented approach to each patient. The veterinarians work a three to four day work week that allows them a positive life balance. Each doctor approaches each patient with fresh enthusiasm and concern. During necessary hospitalization of a patient, two doctors will collaborate regarding diagnosis, treatment, and the best care options. The doctors love what they do and it is reflected in every relationship: patient-veterinarian-owner-family.

Cassie McGrew

RVT, Inventory Manager

Cassie is a graduate of Maple Woods veterinary technology. Her passion for veterinary medicine ignited when she started her first job working as an animal care giver in a veterinary practice in Parkville, Missouri. Cassie fell in love with the small animal nursing side of vet med through her years there and decided to pursue her degree in veterinary technology.

She joined the LAHC team in January of 2013. She has continued to learn and expand her skills through her years at LAHC. Cassie loves all aspects of veterinary medicine. She takes a special interest in geriatric care, anesthesia, and feline medicine. (Shhhh! Don’t tell the dogs!)

She loves enjoying nature when it’s not too hot outside, going to thrift stores, and exploring new places. Her favorite color is glitter and she doesn’t know what she would do without iced coffee.

The love of family, animals, nature, and great music is Amy’s happy place. Her two cats Simone and Mardi are so loved and catered to every day. Amy understands it’s their home – she just lives there!

OUR STORY

Serving our community since 1994.

Lakewood Animal Health Center has come a long way since Dr. Dyer first opened the doors to the Lakewood community in October of 1994.

We have grown to include Dr. Sarah Golladay and Dr. Andrea Eyler as part owners and an additional associate veterinarian. This allows the hospital to be staffed with 2 veterinarians on any given day and provides a healthy work-life balance for the team.

Starting with no existing clients or patients and 1 supporting staff member, we have grown to over 4,700 active clients and over 20 supporting staff members. Many of our clients remember the early days when the practice was located in a small storefront.

In January 2005, we opened our new state-of-the-art, 7,500 square foot, veterinary hospital located on Lakewood Way. Lee’s Summit and the surrounding communities have responded to our desire to provide outstanding medical care to companion pets in a warm and caring environment.

Over the years, our doctors have achieved their business and personal goals and at the same time have established a terrific team of people. We have continued to find success putting relationships as our highest priority, whether it is the relationship with employees, clients, patients, families, or the community.

Clients and patients have grown accustomed to our warm greetings, special treatment, and quality personal care. We have worked hard to gain the trust of our staff and the people and pets we serve.

Awards & Accreditations
